Guys, I have to share my mistake that seriously tested my nerves. BEGINNERS, take note! If something isn't working out (especially rye) - don't despair: change the flour, try a different brand, different packaging, different batch, check the date! Change the yeast. Products might be expired or stored improperly. In the end, such a "trifle" you might be unaware of can seriously ruin your mood. When baking rye - check the MALT. The malt should be FERMENTED (brown powder, with a strong kvass scent). I struggled with the issue of unrisen rye bread for 2 weeks. I almost cried, thought it was a defect, an issue with the rye bread program (the white bread was perfect), was mentally preparing for the ordeal of contacting a service center (read on forums that I wasn't alone with this problem). To my shame, I didn't know what malt should look like. Turns out, I had UNfermented malt (white, similar to coarse flour). It's used too, but for other purposes and not in these recipes. These are functionally 2 different products! With fermented malt, everything turned out wonderfully. Good luck to everyone! Compact, pleasant design, easy to use, wonderful bread, excellent dough. The recipes from the instructions are all "working." When kneading rye bread, a little flour remains in two diagonally opposite corners. Since I can't monitor the kneading (I set it with a delay overnight), I don't bother to scrape the flour off with a spatula, as many do. In the end, nothing terrible happens. The slightly whitish corners don't bother anyone - just a little bit :) |
If you decide to buy a bread maker, only Panasonic. Easy to use despite its high intelligence. The bread turns out tasty and aromatic with a crispy and appetizing crust, and besides that, very beautiful. Does not require expensive ingredients and can be made without any milk at all. You can eat a lot of bread! There's no viewing window, which is very interesting! There are no other drawbacks. |
The bread machine's instructions mention saving the program for 10 minutes after a power outage. However, in practice, after a failure, it's impossible to reset the program because the buttons don't respond. I asked for help online, but no one provided any explanations. On Panasonic's official website, Japanese specialists clarified that the power outage protection is not 10 but 40 minutes. Therefore, you can only reset the program after 40 minutes. Keep this in mind, beginners using this bread machine. More than. Almost none. |
