Model overview based on user reviews
The Philips CX1520 is a powerful floor fan with effective airflow, quiet motor operation at low speeds, and useful remote control and timer functions. It feels sturdy and stable, while height and tilt adjustments improve convenience. However, its large and heavy construction makes it inconvenient to move, and one user reported occasional scraping during oscillation. Its strongest points are airflow, quiet operation, and convenient controls.
Pros
Cons
Good performance, Philips, six large blades. There is a compartment for a "fragrance", the fan remote control is just top-notch. It's heavy, not very easy to carry around the apartment. |
We bought it in the summer during a heatwave. We needed a large, quality fan to circulate air around the room. We chose Philips since it's a familiar brand. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's worth it. The motor runs quietly, especially at lower speeds—it’s comfortable for reading, working, or sleeping. We set it on a timer and slept peacefully with it, which is very convenient. The controls are user-friendly. There’s a touch panel and a remote control, the speeds switch precisely, and the timer works flawlessly. It has adjustments for height and tilt. The side-to-side oscillation is activated with a touch button, unlike cheap fans which use a lever on the motor. The design is quite large and noticeably heavier than compact models, so this fan is more of a “set it and use it” appliance rather than something easy to carry between rooms. At high speeds, the air noise is noticeable—naturally for powerful models—but the motor is not irritating. In summary, this is a quality and reliable floor fan with a good balance between power and comfort. It's suitable for those who need stable room cooling rather than a portable device for local use. Although you can move it, it’s not very convenient. Quiet, push-pull, remote control, timer, touch panel, stylish. When oscillating in a certain position, a quiet scraping sound is heard, most likely the motor housing is touching the base somewhere during the turn, not critical. |

The assembly and materials immediately make it clear what you're paying for. Nothing rattles or wobbles, it looks neat and solid. The base is sturdy and heavy. After using cheap fans from various unnamed brands, the difference is very noticeable — everything here is done more thoughtfully and neatly, maintaining a consistent brand style.
In the heat, it handles its task effortlessly: the room airs out quickly, it's comfortable to sit nearby, even when it runs for a long time. Overall, it leaves the impression of a reliable and quality product that you don't want to replace after a season. I really liked the timer mode, it's very convenient.
