Polaris products are preferred for their optimal balance of price and functionality. And the POF 1002 deep fryer also wins over potential buyers with its compact dimensions, thanks to which the model takes up minimal precious kitchen space.

Capacity

The “little one” is dressed in a white “outfit” made of heat-resistant plastic, under the outer shell of which there is a fixed 1 L bowl. In practice, it is best to fill it with oil no more than 3/4 full, otherwise boiling foam tends to escape the deep fryer over the top. The same can be said about the capacity of the food basket — instead of the manufacturer-stated 0.5 kg, it actually holds half as much.

Simple controls

The model's controls are simplified to the utmost. Judge for yourself: the user only needs to plug the appliance in and turn the temperature selector knob (from 80 to 190 °C). You will need to time the cooking yourself from the moment the built-in heating indicator lights up. For the most common food categories, approximate cooking times are shown as pictograms on the deep fryer body. Unfortunately, they wear off over time, as does the temperature scale around the knob.

Affordability

Additional features of the Polaris POF 1002 include a viewing window and a filter designed to prevent unpleasant odors. A basket with a removable handle also adds convenience when using the deep fryer. However, detaching it during cooking is inconvenient, as there is a risk of getting burned by the bubbling oil. Although the model does have some design flaws, they are more than offset by the extremely affordable price of the deep fryer.
