Who is this food for?
Holistic class food produced in Canada (without the use of chemical additives, only fresh and organic raw materials — as close as possible to natural nutrition) is intended for kittens from 2 to 12 months. The granules are specially adapted to the teeth of kittens to develop chewing skills and provide a smooth transition to solid food after mother's milk.
Ingredients: translation difficulties
The main ingredients are fresh chicken, as befits this class of food. The manufacturer indicates that his product contains 57% meat, 15% fruits and vegetables, and 28% other ingredients. The total amount of fats — 20%, proteins — 30%. And of course, there are vitamins and calcium. Protein is also represented by chicken flour (this is how the English “chicken meal” is translated, and not “dehydrated chicken”, as it is written on the package in the Russian version. Among other sources of protein is a dry egg (the correct translation is “dried egg product”, and not “ dehydrated egg", as in the Russian version), and trepang (an invertebrate marine animal). The source of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) for normal brain development is herring flour.
Herbal and other ingredients
Potatoes in the composition enrich the feed with beta-carotene (vitamin A), carbohydrates, vegetable protein and starch. We also see honey in the composition — a prebiotic, a natural antiseptic. To improve the functioning of the digestive tract, there is also fibre and carob (although some veterinarians consider it a sweetener, superfluous in the composition). For immunity — vitamins E, C, dry chicory root, and yeast; for the heart — taurine. From cereals — brown rice, processed barley and oat kernels, rice bran and millet. Flaxseed is a source of omega-3 and 6 acids, vegetable fat, and New Zealand mussels are GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), “builders” of cartilage tissue. Yucca Schidigera extract reduces faecal odour. There are 66 ingredients in total.
So, there is enough meat and animal protein in the feed, which is excellent for the development of the kitten. At the same time, there are still quite a lot of cereals, root crops and fibre, as well as quite exotic elements, the usefulness of which is difficult to prove.
