Not just a gamepad, but a personal weapon

Like all Razer products, the new Raiju Mobile gamepad is designed, if not for e-sports players, then at least for serious gamers who see it as a potential weapon and prefer to customize everything for themselves. For example, it allows you to assign the necessary commands to a couple of additional keys that are located near the usual triggers, change the sensitivity of the sticks or adjust the trigger stops. For this, unusual large petal keys M3 and M4 are used at the base of the gamepad: hold down one of them and the sensitivity of the corresponding stick decreases. A handy feature for shooters when you need to switch from coarse aiming to fine aiming.

Careful attention to detail

The quality and attention to detail here is simply outrageous: the rubber finish with notches on the back panel fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, the plastic is high-quality and pleasant to the touch, the assembly is like that of a tank (but you still shouldn’t throw it at the wall because of defeats) and even a pair of interchangeable braided cables with protective caps are built to last like a Highlander. The smartphone holder is also well made, the mount can be lifted closer to you (the angle of inclination is adjustable by 60 degrees), or removed if it is not needed. The smartphone clings with a stranglehold, there is no need to be afraid that over time the mounts will loosen and one day it will accidentally fall out and slam to the floor. The maximum width of the device is 79 mm, that is, even a hefty Galaxy Note 10 Plus fits in a case. The smartphone can be connected both via Bluetooth and using a cable. Not to say that the second option is more convenient, but it adds variability. There is a small lever on the rear panel to switch modes. In wireless mode, the joystick holds a charge for about 23 hours.

Price like a mid-range smartphone

Against the background of all that has been said, the main drawback of Raiju Mobile is the traditionally high price for Razer. Especially if we consider it purely as a gamepad for a smartphone, which itself stands like a smartphone. If you are going to play not only on a smartphone, but also on a computer, then this is another matter, there are not so many cool and high-quality controllers for PC on the market. For example, a special tournament version of the Xbox Elite with similar functionality will cost a little less, but it is not friendly with smartphones.
