What to choose: slow cooker, pressure cooker or rice cooker? What is the difference between slow cooker, pressure cooker and rice cooker, what are their advantages and disadvantages
Quick, convenient, and delicious
19 March 2018
The most important difference of this model from simpler and cheaper ones is that it is also a pressure cooker. That means it can operate under small excess pressure, which increases the boiling point of water. This, in turn, offers a significant time-saving advantage. This is especially noticeable when braising beef, lamb, or any other "stubborn" meat. And the aspic you can prepare in it is amazing—it not only cooks almost one and a half times faster, but the taste is slightly different, which I actually liked more. However, pressure not only helps with meat, you can also boil beans or peas significantly faster in this mode. It also helps cook delicious pilaf quickly. And, as I keep repeating, it does so remarkably fast, in just about 20 minutes (I'm talking about rice, the story with meat is different). It simplifies cooking vegetables. I didn’t risk placing potatoes under pressure as they cook fast anyway, but beets and carrots for a vinaigrette can be boiled splendidly in it. I eagerly anticipate summer and fresh sweet corn, as this is another product that should cook much faster. The bowl in the multicooker is large, five-liter capacity. It has 13 automatic programs, but in addition to that, there's a great multipurpose function, which allows you to manually control all parameters.
There's no point in cooking quick-cooking products in it, as it takes even longer than on a gas stove. Its power is indeed lower than that of burners. I tried baking in it, but it didn’t turn out well – it overheated at the bottom, and the top and middle were undercooked.
