Redmond SkySocket 202S

The Redmond company is not famous for its multicookers alone; recently it has been actively developing a line of smart devices for the home. One of these is the “smart” Redmond Sky Socket 202S socket for an E27 lamp.

"Smart" base

The base is screwed directly into the lamp socket and only then the light bulb itself (with a power of no more than 60 W) is screwed into it. As a result, the position of the lamp lengthens by about 5 cm, which is why the appearance of the lamp sometimes suffers. However, against the backdrop of the possibilities provided by the base, this fact practically does not cause disappointment.

Remote control

The smart device is paired with other devices via a Bluetooth connection, and its capabilities are controlled using the Ready 4 Sky application. The most popular among users is support for remote control of turning lights on and off from a smartphone. Wider functionality is represented by the ability to create a schedule for turning on and off lighting devices and the function of automatically turning on the light in the near zone (i.e. when approaching the smartphone lamp).

From any corner

To gain access to light control from any corner of the globe, you will need to leave your mobile gadget at home with the R4S Gateway application pre-installed. It allows you to turn your smartphone or tablet into a kind of server that issues commands to light bulbs within the range of the Bluetooth network. At the same time, this application issues commands to other representatives of the Redmond smart technology squad.

"Smart" component

The arsenal of functions of the smart base does not include support for adjusting the brightness of the light. Users have no other complaints about it. And if the lighting switch is located in a hard-to-reach place (for example, in a closet or garage), then the base greatly simplifies access to it or automates the process of turning the light on and off, “pumping” any room with its “smart” component.
