The column is made of a steel pipe, but at the same time it has a decent wall thickness and should not bend during normal “home” operation. The motor assembly is attached to the column with just two small studs, but is held securely. The table is height and tilt adjustable (it can be tilted left and right by 45° for drilling at an angle). The machine is supplied with a key chuck designed to use drills with a diameter of up to 13 mm (in case of urgent need, you can also use industrial equipment with Morse taper shanks MK2). There is an adjustable drilling depth stop, very useful for repetitive operations (but it should be noted that this stop is plastic and flimsy, so it breaks quite quickly and needs to be replaced). The machine is equipped with a marker that draws a cross with laser beams at the point where the tip of the drill is directed. In unsuccessful technical solutions, you can safely write down the transmission compartment cover. It is made of thin plastic and is attached very inconveniently - with the help of a small screw that needs to be unscrewed with a screwdriver. Due to such difficult and inconvenient access to the transmission, the process of shifting gears takes too much time. Many also note the useless transparent shield in front of the cartridge. It is often removed, as it interferes with changing drills. The Ryobi RDP102L is very quiet (for example, when drilling metal, the squeak from the friction of the drill on the workpiece sounds louder than the noise from the engine). Near a working machine, you can calmly talk without raising your voice. But when starting and stopping the engine, a loud crunch is heard. This crackle is normal (it means that the centrifugal motor protection mechanism is working) and should not be alarmed, although it is very unpleasant.
