The built-in coffee machine of the Smeg brand can be classified as an advanced solution on the market. The model represents the signature Coloniale line, which combines devices in a retro design. The antique design is emphasized by the beige (cream) color of the front, the characteristic rotary switches on the case, and the presence of brass inserts on the front surface of the case.

To interact with the device, not only traditional buttons are offered, but also a two-line LED display with informative tips. The Smeg CMS8451P coffee machine can prepare popular drinks, namely espresso, Americano, cappuccino and latte (and also dispense boiling water). Both ground coffee and grain can be used as raw materials, because “on board” there is a conical burr coffee grinder made of stainless steel and complemented by a 220 gram hopper.

To automate the preparation of coffee and milk drinks, a milk system with a complete tank and adjustment of the foam volume is provided. Default recipes can be customized by changing the strength, volume and temperature of the coffee. Other features include illuminated cups, self-cleaning systems, and practical telescopic guides with soft-close closure for removing the device from a niche. The main components, including a 15-horsepower pump, a 1350 W thermoblock and a brewing group, were provided to the manufacturer by De'Longhi.
