Squier is a subsidiary of Fender, making instruments for those who want Fender, but at a lower price. The SA-105CE is a well-balanced electric-acoustic guitar for beginners.

For a confident start

The classic dreadnought is available in black and natural with a glossy finish. The first looks more impressive for the stage, but hides the black pickguard. The top is made of laminated spruce, and the back, sides and body of the neck are made of nato laminate, although mahogany, but significantly inferior in sustain to the more expensive mahogany. The 20 fret neck has a maple fingerboard, although it looks like rosewood in colour. The neck is comfortable to grip and play, the cutout makes it easy to reach the upper frets, but the paint on the fingerboard wears off quickly.

Sound level

The guitar is equipped with Fishman Isys-T electronics with a three-band equalizer and tuner. It works out quite decently, there are practically no differences in sound with and without connection. The sound of the guitar itself is bright, accented, of course, there is not enough density, but in general, quite good frequencies can be achieved. And if you change the complete strings to more expensive ones, it will be even better. The instrument holds the system well, but there is a job for the tuner, he is very handy here.

For Squier SA-105CE they ask for $200 and it is quite affordable for such an instrument. Especially considering that its prototype, the Fender CD-60SCE, will cost almost two and a half times more, although in fairness it sounds the same.
