Stanley SPT900

The American brand Stanley not so long ago was taken under the wing of its more respectable compatriot — the DeWalt concern. This allowed Stanley products to reach a qualitatively new level, while maintaining the price attractiveness. The SPT900 reciprocating saw will cost just $90, but will do the job just as well as its older counterparts from DeWalt.

Holding on confidently

The saw has a comfortable grip handle and a part of the body rubberized in the gearbox area for a more secure hold and reduced vibration during operation. The weight of the model is 3.5 kg and good weight distribution allows you to use the tool for a long time without any noticeable discomfort.

Works Reliably

The motor power of 900 W, although it provides a maximum idle speed of the knife of 3200 rpm, performance drops under load. The speed of the movement of the canvas is regulated by pressing the button. But it is impossible to fix the button at a certain frequency, which at some points complicates the workflow.

Maintained easily

The saw handles wood up to 305 mm in diameter and metal pipe up to 75 mm. Also, with the right selection of canvases, the tool easily cuts brick, plaster, foam concrete and plastic. The swivel base easily bypasses any objects during sawing, and also allows you to limit the depth of cut. Installing or replacing the blade does not require the use of a key, the saw is fixed easily, teeth down or up.

I did not like the implementation of protection against dust and dirt. The function is performed by ordinary felt couplings, which quickly become unusable and require replacement.

In general, despite the shortcomings, Stanley SPT900 leaves a good impression. The model is assembled solidly and behaves quite confidently in operation. A good choice for infrequent small-volume jobs. The lack of a tool bag in the kit also indicates a household orientation.
