Model overview based on user reviews
The Steinberg UR22C is a highly regarded audio interface, praised for its exceptional sound quality and numerous advantages over similar products. Users appreciate its 32-bit sound recording capability and the built-in DSP processor, which provides well-processed sound immediately after recording. The interface features combined XLR-Jack inputs, separate volume controls for headphones and sound monitors, and the ability to connect to a phone via a Type-C cable, significantly enhancing audio quality. It is compatible with Windows, macOS, iOS, and Linux, although some DSP features may not work on Linux. The device offers balanced connections, MIDI input/output, and 48-volt phantom power, all housed in a solid metal casing. While the maximum headphone impedance is limited to 40 Ohms, the interface's overall performance and features make it a worthwhile investment for both professional and casual users.
Pros
Cons
I bought in addition to the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 headset with an eye to buying a good microphone in the future. - Hotel-style volume control knob for headphones. - Worked out of the box on Linux (except for magic like DSP processors, there's an issue there). - Has balanced connections. USB Type C for connection to a computer. Can be powered by a power bank. - MIDI input+output. 32 bits, whereas competitors offer 24. - 48 volt phantom power available. - Mono mode available for recording microphones that output sound to only one channel. - Nice, solid, metal casing. - Monitor mode operating with minimal latency. - The stated maximum impedance for the headphones is only 40 Ohms. |
I bought it a year ago and use it every day. The card is very good, with many advantages compared to its analogs. It records sound in 32 bits. It has a built-in processor, which allows you to get well-processed sound right after recording. It has an instrument input. It has combined XLR-Jack inputs. It has separate volume controls for headphones and sound monitors. It turned out to be a really cool feature that you can connect this card to your phone just by connecting them with a Type-C cable. The sound immediately becomes so much better that it's hard to put into words; I started listening to music and watching movies in a new way, not to mention working with sound. Overall, I believe that even if you don't work with sound, it's worth buying just for listening to music, the sound quality of this card is that amazing. It is worth every penny. Sound, many advantages compared to analogs none |
