Irons are produced by many companies, but not all manage to combine ergonomics, soleplate quality, and good steam modes at an affordable price. Honestly, Tefal also has some minor issues with this. The "Iron of My Dreams" from their current lineup costs a whopping 52 EUR, which I can't afford right now. This more affordable model, which costs half as much, but with the same excellent soleplate, has become my new iron. An iron is like a joke you use if not every day, then certainly every other day. So this ergonomic and quite powerful model, which is even pleasant to hold, fits the role 100%. It's small and easily hides in the closet. Powerful, the 2200W heater warms the soleplate in less than about a minute. The soleplate glides well on all types of fabrics, with a glass-like coating to which nothing sticks. Actually, if you overheat the iron and foolishly poke it into delicate synthetics, sticking might happen. But, barring absent-mindedness, fresh marks can be cleaned off. Works great with steam, delivering evenly, and has a powerful steam burst. If there's not enough steam, you can always spray water from the special nozzle at the iron's tip. You can fill a whole cup of water at once, so you don't have to do it too often. In general, no wrinkled item or tricky crease can withstand this iron. Does not steam evenly in a vertical position. I thought I could steam hanging curtains, but it turned out that in this position only the steam boost function works. Somehow managed, but steaming in this mode is inconvenient. |
