Interesting tower with great potential

The Thermalright TA 140 is a pretty interesting CPU cooler with a lot of potential and a decent price tag. It is a classic tower cooler with double-sided mounting and a copper and aluminium heatsink, which is suitable for installation on modern motherboards with Intel and AMD processors.

Five heatpipes and 200W TDP

Unlike most "democratic" cooling systems of this class, the TA 140 is equipped with a radiator with not four, but five heat pipes (6 mm in diameter), which are like radiator fins. The cooler is equipped with a 140mm spinner with a rotation speed of 600 to 1500 rpm, which is automatically controlled by pulse-width modulation (PWM). The fan is equipped with a threaded plain bearing. The most interesting thing about this model is the TDP of 200 W at a price of 50 dollars. According to the passport, this is almost a complete analogue of the much more expensive Noctua NH-D15, which will have enough cooling to overclock when overclocking an 8-core chip of the Core i7 10700K caliber.

VRM airflow and ease of installation

Another question is how it all works. The Chinese brand Thermalright does not have the same authority that Noctua, Zalman and Deepcool have and in fact this is its first full-fledged tower. What can I say, they did a good job: TA 140 is easy to install, it is perfectly blown out reaching the VRM-zone of the motherboard, it is small in height, it does not block RAM slots. However at high load it is not as quiet as the manufacturer promised (with a figure of 23 dBA, they were clearly modest), and there are no RGB strips on the fan, but for this money, try to find something better.
