The mobile has a built-in night light with very gentle light. We often left it on overnight, it's not bright, doesn't disturb sleep, yet you can see the baby well. The mount is universal, fits any crib, any edge. When my daughter grew up and started standing in the crib, she began to take the toys off herself and played with them. The manufacturer states that the mobile can be used from birth, but in our opinion, it's better to start at a minimum of 3-4 months. Before that time, the baby didn't care much, and the nightlight even interfered with sleep, so we used a separate one.
