Versatile machine for welding anything
Zubr Red Machine PS-200 is a versatile welding machine, as it can weld with both electrodes and wire. Moreover, the design of the device (built using IGBT technology with a pulsed mode) allows you to weld not only ordinary steel, but also non-ferrous metals, such as aluminium and copper.
Lots of switches, but few cables
On the front panel of the device there are a number of “knobs”, digital displays and pushbutton switches that make it possible to configure equipment and change operating modes. Wire feed speed, welding current strength, inductance, cycle time and other parameters can be adjusted. The semi-automatic inverter is equipped with built-in protection against overload and overheating, as well as functions that facilitate the process of manual arc welding: hot start, arc force and protection against sticking of the electrode.
The traditional disadvantage of Zubr welding machines is short cables (for this model, the mass cable is only 1.3 m long, and the wire to the electrode holder is 1.7 m). There are also complaints about the design of the plastic broach mechanism. It is “capricious”, and if the tension and pressure forces of the roller are not set correctly, the wire will jam and “slow down”.
Good semi-auto for garage work
Due to the possibility of stable operation at low voltage (at least 160 V is required), the Zubr is excellent for working in low-quality power networks, typical for garage and summer cottage cooperatives. But this device (like the rest of the Zubr brand instrument) should by no means be considered as a professional one. This is a household-class technique, and it is simply not designed for truly serious loads. This semi-automatic inverter is perfect for home craftsmen or amateurs who occasionally weld on weekends, but professionals will need more powerful equipment to work.
