ADATA XPG Gammix S60 is a new wave of budget M.2 NVMe SSDs with read speeds of 5000 MB/s. Its predecessors, even if they worked on the PCIe 4.0 bus, only produced 3500 MB/s. In addition to desktop computers and laptops, it is compatible with the Sony PlayStation 5 game console, but in its case the speed will be limited to 4600 MB/s.
Smart caching
The writing speed depends on the storage capacity: 3200 MB/s for the one-terabyte version and 4200 MB/s for the two-terabyte version. Such a high result is achieved using two smart caching technologies at once: SLC and HMB. The first combines flash memory cells to parallelize recording, and the second uses part of the PC's system-wide RAM.
