Best Design Award Winner
When the ubiquitous fashion for thin frames began a couple of years ago, the term “frameless” came into use. Smartphones, monitors and TVs have become frameless, almost plastic windows have not reached. Yes, in comparison with the models of the past, the frames really got thin, but, honestly, in 99% of cases this is not framelessness. But not in the case of AOC 24V2Q. Just look at it, the framing on the sides and top is needed here rather in order not to accidentally cut yourself on the edge of the monitor. And so they are not actually visible. And the ultra-thin monitor itself looks cool and minimalist, with a reason that readers of the Windows Central portal called it the most beautiful 24-inch display of 2018. Given the $100-odd price tag, it could have been bought for the design alone.
Versatile monitor for different tasks
But no, the rest of the characteristics are also in order, there are definitely reasons to buy. The IPS-matrix is responsible for displaying the picture in the AOC 24V2Q. It supports Full HD resolution, is characterized by high contrast ratios, especially in dynamic scenes (20,000,000:1), saturated, moderately bright colours. Factory calibration ensures accurate colour reproduction and a natural picture that users generally like. The refresh rate is 75 Hz and the response time is 5 ms, which makes it a good candidate for a monitor in an inexpensive gaming system. The disadvantages of the image are only small lights (the so-called glow-effect), which appear in the dark at the edges of the screen.
External power supply
Flicker-Free and Low-blue Light technologies are designed to minimize eye fatigue, respectively, preventing flicker and reducing blue backlight. Gamers will certainly be attracted by the presence of AMD FreeSync technology, which eliminates tearing in the image when displaying dynamic scenes. In general, this is a versatile monitor that is suitable for a variety of scenarios, whether work, play, surf the net or watch your favorite TV shows. Against the background of all that has been said, there are two small minuses. All ports on the reverse side are located across the connection, and not along the bottom, which makes it difficult to put it right up to the wall. And be sure to learn that it has an external power supply. That is, an additional box will lie on the table or under the table. Such is the sacrifice of sleek design, slim body and slim bezels.
