A family of relatively affordable gaming laptops from Asus' popular 2019 The Ultimate Force line. All laptops are assembled in a rugged plastic case, which is confirmed by tests of the American military standard MIL-STD-810G. Unlike similar 2018 Asus TUF models, these models are based on 4-core AMD Ryzen 5 3550H/3750H processors with Zen+ microarchitecture (Picasso core) and improved multithreading performance (Simultaneous Multithreading).
They are positioned as mid-range products designed for comfortable gaming in FullHD resolution and work with a wide range of resource-intensive applications. Thanks to high computing performance and AMD Radeon RX 560X discrete graphics cards (4 GB GDDR5), Asus TUF Gaming FX505DY laptops are able to provide comfortable gameplay in all popular gaming projects of 2015-2020 at high/medium-high graphics settings.
All models of the family are equipped with high-quality 15.6-inch NanoEdge displays based on IPS matrices with a resolution of 1920x1080 and a frame rate increased to 120 Hz. A pair of Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi 5 network adapters quickly handles impressive amounts of traffic. Fast loading of the operating system and games is provided by a disk subsystem based on an SSD drive (in older models).
