A modification of the popular tablet from Asus with a screen size of 8", built on the basis of the Snapdragon 410 chip. The processor paired with 1 GB of RAM does a good job of performing everyday tasks (consuming multimedia content, browsing the Internet and social networking). Of the 16 GB of pre-installed memory, a little more than half is allocated to the needs of the user — the rest is occupied by Android 6.0 OS with the ZenUI shell. If there is not enough memory, the user has the right to use a removable microSD drive (up to 128 GB). A separate slot on board the Asus ZenPad 8 3G 16GB Z380KNL is allocated for installing a SIM card, which opens up the way to access the Internet through the use of 3G and LTE mobile networks, and it also becomes possible to make voice calls. In addition,...a Wi-Fi module can be used to connect to the World Wide Web. The tablet is powered by a 4000 mAh battery, which has enough energy reserves for 6 hours of screen activity.

Tablets of the ZenPad series from the Taiwanese company Asus are available in several variations — on chips from Qualcomm, MediaTek or Intel. Inside the Z380 KNL modification, an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor is installed, which is economical in power consumption and relatively fast.

Daily Tasks

The performance of the device is estimated by 25K points in the AnTuTu test. Accordingly, the hardware handles with any undemanding tasks without any problems, whether it is watching online video, browsing the Internet or communicating on social networks. With games, things are a little worse, because the lack of RAM (only 1 GB) makes itself felt. Although at medium graphics settings most modern games, the tablet must pull.

Screen sides

As for an 8-inch diagonal, the HD screen resolution (1280x800 pixels) creates a low pixel density (189 ppi), due to which graininess will be visible when looking at the display up close. But the screen correctly displays colours, the auto-brightness sensor adequately responds to all changes in lighting, and a high-quality oleophobic coating is applied on top of the display, which prevents fingerprints and greasy stains.

Accessories

Most of the back of the gadget is made of matte textured plastic. Under this cover, there is a contact pad for connecting additional accessories to the tablet. These include the optional Power Case or the Audio Cover. The sound quality using the latter soars to a new quality level.

telephone module

The model supports 3G and LTE networks, and the built-in telephone module provides the ability to make voice calls. That's just calling through a tablet without a headset is extremely inconvenient. As with most low-cost devices, the Asus ZenPad 8 3G's cameras are mediocre. The more advantageous in comparison with them is the battery, on one charge of which the gadget is able to play 3 full-length films with a total duration of about 6 hours.
