How to choose a projectorType, projection characteristics, type of lamp and matrix, as well as other criteria for choosing a projector

What to choose: a projector or a TV?Let's figure out when it's better to get a projector and when a TV
Model overview based on user reviews
The BenQ W1070 projector offers excellent image quality and supports a wide range of resolutions, making it ideal for home theater setups. Users appreciate its affordable price for the class, with a rich set of inputs and high build quality. The projector's 1 billion color rendering and lack of a rainbow effect enhance the viewing experience. However, some users note the absence of included 3D glasses and the inconvenient remote control as drawbacks. Additionally, the projector can act as a heater due to its heat output and is sensitive to power fluctuations, suggesting the need for a UPS or stabilizer. Overall, the BenQ W1070 is a highly regarded model that exceeds expectations, especially for those seeking a cost-effective alternative to 3D TVs.
Pros
Cons
The whole family is happy, it's our first home projector, and the result exceeded all expectations. The quality is just amazing; the kids watch cartoons with their mouths open, both old and new. I myself occasionally get a bit absorbed in 3D. If you compare the purchase with a 3D TV, it might be the same, unless you go for a small screen, but then you won't get any of the fun. The main advantage is the price, $1000 for a projector of this class is quite low. The picture quality on the Elite Screens Manual 221 * 124 screen is beyond words, plus my screen is also matte, so even during the day, there are no problems watching, no reflections will appear. As for 3D, it's a bit different, I thought there would be no difference between matte and glossy, although I personally haven't compared it on my projector, but for others, it seems better on glossy. The 3D picture just pops, especially when the sound is right. My projector is located 7 meters away, and the sharpness and brightness are sufficient. There's almost no noise during operation, and you can even use it as a heater in winter.))) I'll mention the color again - this model has 1 billion colors, which is really cool, and competitors with such specs are priced just twice as high. The projector supports any video resolutions, even 1080P. There's no rainbow effect, even if you try to catch it in the light, nothing will appear. You can connect anything to the projector, it has all kinds of inputs and outputs. I even managed to connect my iPhone, although through various adapters.)) The remote for the darkness doesn't work at all, there's no backlight, you have to use your phone's flashlight on it and voilà). I mentioned earlier that it supports 1080p, yes it does, but just not in 3D, I just found that out recently. Regarding the glasses - at least two pairs of the cheapest ones included in the package would have been nice. Acts as a heater - I have it set up in the guest room where we don't spend much time and keep the temperature low, but after watching a movie for an hour in a 34-square-meter room, it becomes quite warm. It doesn't handle power fluctuations well, even if it jumps by 10-20 volts it will turn off, and you won't be able to watch anything, so either buy a UPS or get a stabilizer for the whole house. The ceiling mount is secured with 3 bolts, it holds, but a square mount with 4 bolts and stronger anchors in the package would be preferable, as the current triangular setup distributes the force unevenly, and the 2 cm anchors are just enough to come loose and potentially cause harm. |
This is the second projector I've used, the first was also a BenQ. I was slightly doubtful about the accuracy of the specifications for the price before purchasing, but after buying and using it, I was convinced that everything matches the stated data, even in daylight the image quality is quite acceptable. A very successful model, as they say: "Why pay more." The expensive glasses, a set of 3, are one-third the price of the projector, which is disappointing. High image quality, supports all currently existing resolutions. Rich set of inputs. Price-performance ratio. High build quality. Remote control with backlight. Compatible with any glasses using DLP Link technology. No 3D glasses included. Very poor package contents. use BenQ W1070 month or more |
A very decent video projector, we used it for quite a long time, then friends recommended the Fibo-FB950. We are using it now, very satisfied, it is in no way inferior to the BenQ W1070, but more affordable in price. High resolution Brightness Convenient picture diagonal Price, the remote control is absolutely inconvenient use BenQ W1070 month or more |
