The Zowie gaming series monitor is the successor to the BenQ XL2730 model. Outwardly, they are almost identical: they are made in a strict design without any inscriptions on the front, they offer wide possibilities for adjusting the screen position, up to a 90-degree turn (changing the orientation to portrait), they have a solid set of interfaces for displaying images, including 2 HDMI, USB- a hub with three ports and support for fast charging, as well as a retractable headphone holder.
The main difference concerns the presence of movable side curtains in the BenQ XL2735 package. These panels will close to help the gamer focus on what is happening on the screen, hide from the household and protect from glare. And if they are not needed, then the curtains can be easily removed and special plugs installed in their place.
Fast response
The monitor is based on a TN matrix with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It features a 1ms response time and supports a 144Hz sweep rate. Getting the maximum frame rate is possible when using Display Port or HDMI 2.0. The company's Dynamic Accuracy technology is designed to provide additional smoothness of the video sequence and an effective fight against blurring in dynamic games.
Flexible customization options
The brightness and contrast parameters of the BenQ XL2735 seem to be average (250 cd/m2 and 1000:1, respectively), but in fact they are enough. And with the help of the Black eQualizer function, you can flexibly adjust the contrast and sharpness, making dark scenes brighter or vice versa. The monitor also supports Flicker-Free technology, designed to reduce fatigue during long gaming sessions.
According to users, initially the colour accuracy of the screen is lame: the shades look unrealistic and even caustic, which tyres the eyes. And in general, in this parameter, the model is inferior to VA-monitors. Part of the solution to the situation is user settings. For these purposes, there is a convenient menu with presets and the Colour Vibrance function, which involves 20 levels of colour adjustment. Also included with the BenQ XL2735 is a wired S switch remote control that allows you to quickly change the basic factory settings and switch between preset profiles.
When creating a monitor, not only the key requirements of game fans were taken into account, but also various small nuances. Just they can become a decisive factor in favor of choosing a model from BenQ.
