Energy-efficient and stylish Full HD monitor with a 23.8-inch diagonal matrix created using IPS technology. It features an original and modern design, developed in accordance with the "frameless" concept of the Cinema screen, high efficiency, affordable cost and the presence of a built-in acoustic stereo system (2 x 1 W). The manufacturer is positioned as an entry-level monitor for use as part of low-cost home and office personal computers.
The screen with a physical diagonal of 605 mm is based on a pseudo-eight-bit (6-bit + FRC) AH-IPS-matrix produced by LG Display with W-LED backlight, devoid of characteristic high-frequency flicker. The screen of the BenQ GW2480 monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080, is capable of showing a good maximum brightness (up to 250 cd / m²) and a static contrast ratio of 1000: 1, and also provides excellent vertical and horizontal viewing angles of 178 °.
The use of Overdrive technology has reduced the response time of the matrix to 5 ms GtG and 14 ms BtW. Such parameters, together with a good colour gamut, allow this model to provide decent image quality when showing dynamic cinematic and game scenes. The stand provides adjustment of the screen tilt angle from -5 to +20°, and connection to a computer or laptop is carried out using connectors of any of the three available interfaces: VGA D-sub 15-pin, DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 1.4.

Inexpensive monitor for undemanding users
In all honesty, the vast majority of people don't really understand the intricacies of image quality or the nuances of natural colour reproduction. Ideally, people need a larger size and better matrix quality so that the picture in games and movies is bright, contrasting and colorful. It is for this category of customers that a line of inexpensive and high-quality BenQ GW monitors has been created, which are positioned as office monitors, but are also great for multimedia purposes.
High-quality colour reproduction
The hero of this review BenQ GW2480 is the heir to the popular BenQ GW2480, featuring a pair of small built-in speakers, as well as a more complete set of video interfaces (HDMI, VGA and DisplayPort). He received a 24-inch display with Full HD resolution and 8-bit IPS-matrix. According to users, the colour reproduction of the display is at its best: the picture looks natural and without an overabundance of colours. Especially if you look at the modest price tag of the monitor. It is also worth highlighting the excellent uniformity of the backlight, the absence of glare in the dark, acceptable viewing angles. The response time is slightly inferior to competitors based on TN matrices, but the overall smoothness of the video sequence is at a decent level. In addition to all of the above, the monitor has a flicker-free backlight (Flicker-Free) and an ambient light sensor that allows you to adjust the brightness of the display depending on the time of day.
Nice neat design
In terms of design, everything is traditional — a neat rectangular stand with a surface imitating brushed metal, thin frames on the sides and top, classic black plastic in the design. It's great that the stand turned out to be quite large and will reliably take care of the stability of the monitor. It has a single degree of freedom: the tilt of the screen is adjusted in a small range. On the back of the case there are holes for VESA-brackets, which makes it possible to mount the monitor on the wall.
