This pan is primarily designed to cook meat and fish steaks, grilled vegetables, etc., while at the output the user will receive a product with characteristic fried stripes. The model is compatible with stoves with various types of cooking surfaces, including induction, and is also suitable for use in ovens. It is made of cast iron, which boasts a high heat capacity and relatively low thermal conductivity, but at the same time significantly weights the dishes themselves. The size of the Biol 1026 grill pan is 26 cm. The handle is made of heat-resistant bakelite plastic and is made removable, which is very convenient because it allows you to continue cooking the meat fried over high heat in the oven to make it as juicy as possible. There is no non-stick coating, however, the tendency of pro...ducts to burn in cast iron cookware is not great, especially since the bottom of this product is corrugated. But at the same time, the grill pan itself requires special care: it must be wiped dry after each wash so as not to provoke the appearance of rust. It is not recommended to store cooked food in it — prolonged contact of products with this metal leads to oxidation and spoils the taste.

The massive Biol 1026 pan has all the advantages and disadvantages of cast iron — the material from which the grill pan is made. On the one hand, the surface of the model heats up for a long time and requires careful maintenance, and on the other hand, it distributes heat more evenly and easily tolerates high temperatures. But first things first.

Symmetry

The pan is made in a square form factor with slightly rounded edges. On both of its side walls there are spouts for draining oil or excess juices from cooked food. This arrangement will appeal to both right-handers and left-handers.

two handles

Biol 1026 handle is available in wood or Bakelite. Anyway, it is removable, which makes it possible to use the pan in the oven. On the opposite side there is an auxiliary handle designed to hold the pan with two hands during large cooking volumes.

care requirements

There is no non-stick coating on the surface of the dish. A protective layer that prevents corrosion and is endowed with non-stick properties can be created by heating using vegetable oil. To do this, the pan must be calcined in the oven with salt for 40 minutes. at a temperature of 170-200 °C, then grease the bottom with oil and continue the procedure for another half an hour. Washing also requires compliance with certain rules — the cast-iron surface is not recommended to be cleaned with detergents and cannot be placed in the dishwasher.

Lid

A glass lid is not always included with the pan. However, for lovers of juicy steaks with a delicious crust, it is completely useless. But adherents of cooking without the use of oil and those who prefer well-done meat need to clarify the package before purchasing, since it will not be so easy to choose a suitable lid after the fact because of the atypical shape of the pan.
