Video reviews

High-quality sound when shooting a video is just as important as an attractive picture. A low-cost way to get a portable sound recording system is offered in the portfolio of the Chinese brand BOYA — this is a radio system with the model index BY-WM4.

Radio system kit

The package includes a lavalier microphone with a detachable windscreen, a transmitter, a receiver, TRS and TRRS cables, a cold shoe adapter and a transport case. The transmitter and receiver are made in a compact form factor (45x70x35 mm), a stable connection between them is kept at a distance of up to 60 m in the line of sight. In fact, taking into account the presence of interference, the range of finishing off the signal is about 30 m.

battery life

The radio system operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The power supply of the transmitter and receiver of the model is provided by "finger-type" batteries (1 pc. in each unit). On average, one replaceable battery is enough for a three-hour marathon of continuous recording. This is not much, but with an eye to the belonging of the device to the budgetary strata of the radio systems society, it is quite acceptable.

Availability

In reviews of BOYA BY-WM4, there are complaints about periodic signal breaks, sound transmission delay and increased noise level. However, in general, the radio system works very smoothly. The best option for novice video bloggers and reviewers for a similar price is simply not to be found.
