The CARCAM R2 dashcam is a compact and affordable device, but it has significant drawbacks that impact its reliability. Users have reported frequent glitches, including choppy recordings and screen issues such as flipping and freezing. The magnetic mount is described as flimsy, with parts falling off easily. Additionally, the noise level in videos is notably high and worsens over time. While the GPS feature was only available after a recent update, it did not resolve the underlying issues. Attempts to address these problems with the manufacturer led to unsatisfactory service experiences, with repairs being ineffective and lengthy. Overall, despite its functional features, the CARCAM R2 is not recommended due to its unreliable performance and poor customer support.

Started glitching after a year. Sometimes the display shows that the recording is choppy. I have to restart it. Not recommended for purchase. It will fail you at the crucial moment... One of the magnets on the magnetic adapter fell off right away. Overall, the entire mount is flimsy. The noise in every video is very strong. Moreover, it intensifies towards the end of each video. GPS only appeared after the latest update. Replacing the memory card didn’t help resolve the issue. When I presented the product's shortcomings to the manufacturer, they sent me to a service center, where they refused to accept the product for diagnosis. They simply said they could only repair it (which would take 45 days - how to move around without a recorder all this time, I have no idea). I wanted to return this junk and get my money back, but it's most likely going to end up in court. Not recommended. In the end, I sent it for repair. They did nothing and returned the device after 10 days. They said another memory card is needed (noting that some buy up to 11 different ones and it doesn't help). Don’t fall for the advertising and good reviews. Check for yourself; there isn't a single review on their website! Price, size. Everything else.  Aleks: use CARCAM R2 few months |
