Ready for work
Like all factory water cooling systems, Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 consists of a pump and a radiator with fans connected by hoses. The system is primed and ready to use, which is why it is often referred to as a maintenance-free CBO. The package includes all necessary mounting bolts and is compatible with all Intel and AMD platforms except AMD Threadripper (TR4).
About details
The pump is made in a spherical shape made of plastic, at the top of which is the company logo with white backlight. The service life of the pump is claimed at 23K hours or two and a half years of continuous operation. The fittings at the entrance to the pump rotate and allow you to guide the hoses. The hose is made of PVC and covered with a fabric braid, and its length is 330 mm, which should provide convenient installation in the case, on the top. Copper base without thermal paste, but it comes in a tube.

An aluminium radiator sized 277x120x27 is used as a heat exchanger. These parameters must be taken into account in order to avoid installation problems in the case, but compatibility is improved due to the thin heat exchanger. The kit includes two Cooler Master MasterFan 120 AB fans with nine blades and a smooth inner surface, which is good for increasing airflow and reducing resistance. At the same time, the service life of the fans is 18 years of continuous operation or 160K hours, which is really impressive.
When testing a quad-core processor with eight threads of the Intel Core i7-4790K at maximum cooling speed, the temperature was 48 °C without overclocking under load. This processor runs at a clock speed of 4 GHz and turbo boost up to 4.4 GHz. Heat dissipation is 88 watts.
Findings. MasterLiquid 240 is a low-cost alternative to the top-end MasterLiquid Pro 240. Good cooling at high fan speeds, but there is noise at maximum speed, but given the price and the fact that at maximum speed you are unlikely to use it all the time, this model is very attractive. The warranty compared to the Pro 240 has been reduced from 5 to 2 years.
