Liquid cooling

— water cooling systems consist of three main parts: a water block in direct contact with the cooled component (usually a processor), an external cooler, and a pump (separate or built into the cooler). These parts are connected by hoses through which water (or other similar coolant) circulates — it provides heat transfer. And the cooling block is usually a cooler — a system of fans and heatsinks that dissipates heat energy into the surrounding air.

In general, water systems are highly efficient: in this indicator, they are noticeably superior even to coolers, not to mention radiators. In addition, the external location of the cooler makes it easier to monitor its condition and clean it from dust, which inevitably accumulates in the slots of the radiator. On the other hand, this type of cooling is quite bulky and difficult to install, and it is not cheap.

Also note that such models are usually supplied almost assembled, and to start work it is enough to connect the main parts of the system with hoses, fix the water block and fill the coolant. However, there is another option — the so-called LSS kits in the form of a set of individual parts. Such solutions are noticeably more difficult to assemble, but they give the user additional “creative freedom”, which is why they are appreciated by fans of PC modding.
