Silent Entry-Level Chassis
In the middle of the last decade, Corsair produced excellent mid-range cases with a good balance between price, quality and functionality. One of the hits of the era was the Corsair Carbide Series 200R, which was replaced by a relatively simple mid-sized turret called the Carbide Series 100R. Well, we got a silent version of this case without a viewing window for tests.
Three fan speeds
The case is equipped with soundproof pads and a cooling system controller with three rotational speeds, which should satisfy users who are sensitive to noise levels. It costs about the same as a regular Carbide Series 200R without soundproofing - in east european stores they ask for the same 65 Euros as five years ago. It is from the price that you have to build on when evaluating the design. In our opinion, he deserves the epithet "nothing like that, it will do." The front panel is finished in aluminium, the body looks clean and tidy, but it lacks some zest. Although, appearance is always a matter of taste, so let's move on.
Screwless drive mounts
Two fans are installed in the case, which at the minimum speed remain silent, and at the maximum provide a better level of cooling. Much here depends on the power of the power supply, graphics card or processor cooler, this is not Fractal Design Define 7 in which you can put a screaming cat and you are unlikely to hear it. On the other hand, it costs almost 4 times more. And for the money, the Carbide 100R Silent has practically no alternatives among silent cases. Therefore, we have to turn a blind eye to the lack of vibrating attachments for hard drives familiar to this class, thin metal and not the most successful layout. There is little space behind the motherboard tray, and the height of the CPU cooler is limited by the narrowness of the case. But there are dust filters and screwdriverless mounts for drives.
