It makes sense to buy for the sake of surround sound and positioning (games, movies), but it is assumed that you either have good headphones or surround sound speakers. Yes, the sound is indeed noticeably better (5.1), but this is mostly achieved through software. I had an MSI Gaming 3 motherboard, and it came with a program SoundBlasterCinema2 for Realtek, and the sound was almost like that of this card. Overall, I'm satisfied with the card, there were no problems with the drivers, nothing disconnects or crashes. Programs handle the audio output properly, and everything is fine in games, too. I didn't notice any delays compared to the built-in sound, nor any extraneous noise. The price is highly inflated. It's not worth that much. Buy only used or with a good discount. I didn't find any obvious drawbacks, except for occasional clicks when playing system sounds (notifications, etc.). Oh, and the drivers are a bit unclear; they have an older program called Sound Blaster Command (which I use, but on their page it's labeled as Driver) and a newer Creative App (labeled as Application). But something didn't work out with the new one, either you need to install the old one and then the new one on top, or I didn't figure it out, but the new program didn't work, and I didn't feel like digging into it, so I left what was working. Excellent card, I use it to connect several speakers to a card connected to a computer. The sound is significantly better than with Realtek. excellent card occasionally, when connected to a computer, it may not turn on, but this is resolved by disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable. Had to switch to the internal Sound BlasterX AE-5. They should basically be identical, but I returned THIS one to the store. The sound is good. HUGE (you can even use a larger font). Like a stand for a one-liter glass. Extraneous noise. Tested on various external sources (phone, laptop, PC). Goliaph nope: use Creative Sound Blaster X3 less than month |
