Compact sound hurricane

The name of acoustics Defender Sirocco M30 PRO is fully justified by the power and flying sound reproduction. After all, "Sirocco" is called one of the types of hurricane in Italy.

The acoustic system belongs to the classic "triphonics", where the satellites are responsible for the medium and high frequencies, and the subwoofer is responsible for the bass filling. Despite the three-part configuration, the modest dimensions of the acoustics (115x170x106 mm — satellites, 170x290x270 mm — subwoofer) allow it to be harmoniously located on the desktop.

As for a small desktop acoustics, the model received a decent total power of 30 watts, the lion's share of which went to the subwoofer — 20 watts.

All control is displayed on the front panel of the subwoofer case, where the LCD display shows the playback modes, the frequency latitude of the radio station and the name of the track being played. There are also volume, bass and FM-receiver controls, which can also be changed using the remote control included in the kit (maximum contact range up to 3 metres). Unfortunately, manual treble calibration is not provided, which is quite normal for models in this price segment.

With the built-in USB (type A) and card reader, the audio system can work autonomously, perfectly recognizing external media. The FM receiver is set up automatically, but in the absence of a high-quality signal, for example, outside the city, you can use the included fixed antenna.

Sound

It should be noted that low frequencies retain timbre and do not sound overloaded even when playing rock music, but, despite the volume margin, it should not be abused to preserve detail. Electronic and pop music sound good, but in classical, especially piano works, there is a “flatness” of sound caused by a lack of mids. With the reproduction of speech in films, especially with a crushed sound, the acoustics do an excellent job. The same can be said about the voice acting of computer games.
