A noteworthy player in the medium arena of on-board video recording of traffic conditions in front of the hood of a car. At first glance, the characteristics of the model are quite typical — the video is shot in FullHD resolution (1920x1080 pixels at 30 fps), the device has wide-angle optics (140°) and support for WDR technology. But if you dig deeper, some interesting details are revealed. Thus, Gazer F725 can keep abreast of the life of the "iron horse" through the OBDII interface, scanning systems for malfunctions. The data from the DVR is subject to interpretation in a digestible form with the participation of the mobile application for the Gazer Dashcam IoV smartphone. During driving, the device monitors the distance (FCWS function) and lane keeping (LDWS function). In the dark time o...f the day, together with the registrar, you can use the phone to project an image from it onto the windscreen. This feature of the Head-UP Display is carried out by mirroring the image from the smartphone onto the glass. It provides information on speed, travel time, engine rpm, distance covered, engine temperature and fuel consumption.

Video reviews

The compact Gazer F725 video recorder in a cylindrical case is not as simple as it may seem at first glance. And here's the thing.

Connecting to OBDII

The recorder interface shelf has an "OBD" connector - it is used to connect the optional ACG-OBD module with a GPS antenna. This unit significantly increases the functionality of the device. According to the data from it, information about the route of trips, speed, fuel consumption, etc. is recorded. In addition, the OBDII system is used to diagnose the on-board systems of the car and identify codes for possible malfunctions.

Clear picture in Full HD

Video recording on the device is possible in Full HD resolution, which in translation to the pixel grid is 1920x1080 pixels. The recorder produces a clear image and can set the correct exposure balance thanks to the extended dynamic range function WDR. The lens of the model is moderately wide-angle - its field of view angle is approximately 140 °.

In connection with a smartphone

The recorder does not have its own screen — the compact size of the case has an effect. The recorded videos are supposed to be viewed from a paired smartphone (via Wi-Fi). At the same time, the Gazer Dashcam IoV mobile application will serve to interpret the received information through the OBDII diagnostic connector. And the phone can also be used to project an image onto the windshield in the dark — the Head-UP Display function involves mirroring the image from the smartphone onto the glass. Finally, the LDWS (lane control) and FCWS (issues warnings about dangerous approach) road assistants deserve a mention.
