Genius WideCam F100

Genius' WideCam webcams are notable for their ultra-wide-angle optics. For example, the Genius WideCam F100 has a 120° field of view, making it clear that video conferencing with more than one person is possible.

Design

The camera rests on a stand that sits firmly on a horizontal surface, and can also be fixed to a laptop screen or monitor case. In addition, the leg design includes a hinge to rotate the webcam around its own axis within 360°. The front decorative panel on the body of the device is made of structured metal with small slots behind which a stereo microphone is hidden. There are practically no serious complaints about the quality of speech transmission.

The Genius WideCam F100 delivers highly detailed images with a webcam-like dynamic range. Such an image remains even when shooting in low light conditions, but noise is added to it. It is worth noting that the absence of an auto focus system requires manual focus to achieve optimal image quality.

Freedom of installation

For some reason, Taiwanese engineers considered it unnecessary to equip the camera with an activity indicator. Therefore, it is not possible to intuitively understand whether a recording is being made or not. But the manufacturer's generosity resulted in the inclusion of a USB extension cable with which the maximum cable length for connecting a webcam to a computer reaches 3 m. This allows you to expand more widely at the installation site of the device, using it both for the purpose of communicating with a company of 5-6 people via Skype at home, and for conducting business video conferences at work.
