High price-quality ratio
Huawei's MediaPad T5 line of tablets is aimed at buyers who are not ready to spend a lot on a gadget, but at the same time want to get the most out of it. Despite the price of just under $250, the MediaPad T5 looks quite stylish and modern, the aluminium body is built to last, and the thickness of 7.8 mm makes it possible to call this model thin. The only disadvantage of the case is its soiledness: you have to wipe off fingerprints quite often.
Display with automatic resolution change
Almost the entire front panel of the tablet is occupied by a 10-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution (1920x1200 pixels). The display leaves a good impression, it has good colour reproduction and a decent margin of brightness. But with such a price tag, Huawei could afford to use an outdated TN-Film matrix or reduce the resolution to regular HD. By the way, about the resolution: the tablet supports the smart resolution mode and in the case of a very dead battery, it is automatically reduced in order to save battery power.
8-core processor
MediaPad T5 is built on the hardware base of the 8-core Kirin 659 chip in combination with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded with a memory card (maximum 128 GB). Kirin 659 is a typical middle peasant in the line of Huawei chipsets, the performance of which is enough for seamless playback of any videos, smooth operation of the interface and the launch of most toys. However not all of them will turn on the maximum graphics settings.
EMUI proprietary shell
Of the strengths of the tablet, it is worth highlighting the proprietary EMUI 8.0 shell (running on Android 8), which is used in Huawei smartphones, and in this case adapted to a large diagonal. Here you also have a separate children's mode for controlling content, reconfiguring the on-screen buttons for yourself, the ability to call from a tablet, like from a regular smartphone, and other useful features.
The few shortcomings of the MediaPad T5 can only be added to the microUSB connector, which is gradually becoming a thing of the past.
