The American company JBL has been producing high-quality acoustics and audio equipment that has been gaining worldwide recognition for many decades. The Bar 2.1 soundbar will please fans of high-tech devices with wide connectivity and settings.
Minimalistic design
The soundbar attracts with a simple but stylish design, easy installation and wall mounting. In the kit there is a ready-made marking scheme for mounting.
A wireless subwoofer on small legs is also made to match. There is a bass reflex hole at the back, and the speaker itself is directed to the floor, which enhances the effect of low frequencies.
Signature sound from JBL
The system has a power of 300 W, which is provided in total by 7 speakers, 4 midrange, 2 treble in the projector and 1 bass in the subwoofer. There is a function of virtual surround sound and a lot of equalizer presets. It would seem that here it is happiness, if not for one "but" — a noticeable dip in the middle frequencies and obscenely raised tops. And it’s not even the characteristic “plasticity” of the “Jibiel” sound, but precisely the cut-off mids, which is why the basses sound somehow unnatural and weak, and the high ones cut the ear at peaks. However, fans of the brand will feel little of the problem, but lovers of a realistic sound picture with a characteristic softness of the midrange will obviously not be happy.
We connect everything
Sweetening the pill is ample connectivity. On board we have HDMI input and output, optical output, mini-Jack (3.5 mm), USB A, and Bluetooth 4.2. In general, a complete set. Management is implemented using the physical buttons on the projector and the remote control. A bright but not annoying display will help you navigate the settings, highlighting the options on the front panel of the projector at the time of setting.
Overall, the JBL Bar 2.1 could be the best device in the 2.1 soundbar niche. High power, an abundance of settings and connectors, the effect of surround sound, a low cost for such functionality ($ 300), but the sound prevented the palm from being taken. Here he frankly let us down.
