Versatility
Klipsch The Sixes is a somewhat unique speaker package that pleases with richness of connection, assertive character, versatile design and many interesting technical solutions. For example, a hybrid horn is used here, which significantly reduces the rate of distortion of the tweeter and improves sound dispersion, playing the role of a waveguide. Thanks to this, the speakers sound plus or minus the same regardless of the position of the listener. As for the woofers, the 6.5” diameter is the perfect solution for a medium sized room. At first it seems that a subwoofer is needed to pair the Sixes, but after warming up, the bass becomes clearer and more accentuated, but at the same time it sounds warmer than initially. And the built-in amplifiers of 100 W per brother allow them to play with a margin, avoiding distortion even at maximum volume.
Thoroughbred character
In general, the system pleasantly surprises with its thoroughbred sound: regardless of genres, music sounds rich and sparkles with subtle details, movie tracks at especially epic moments are imprinted on the sofa, so that guests grab the armrests out of habit. It is clear that this is not a full-fledged cinema system, however, the power reserve of 200 W does not give reason to regret that I never bought the centre and rear. In terms of character, this is traditional Klipsch at its best, when explosive low frequencies somehow magically merge with airy high frequencies, and the stereo panorama seems to spread around the room, placing the listener at the epicenter of events. Listening to well-known music on new speakers is always a pleasure, and on The Sixes the pleasure from this process is doubled, or even tripled.
No flaws
The kit pleases in all other respects, be it ergonomics, functionality or design. For example, protective grills are held on magnets and, if necessary, can be easily removed. Without grills, both vintage boxes with golden toggle switches and walnut look impressive and fit easily into the decor of almost any room. The abundance of connection options (RCA, 3.5, USB, optical and Bluetooth) allow this couple to make friends with any signal source, and a really convenient remote control makes it easy to control the speakers. The only thing that does not please is the price tag of a thousand-odd dollars. However, we have never associated Klipsch with affordable hi-fi, it has not so many competitors in the “bluetooth + powerful amplifier + excellent sound” format.
