Representatives of the Legion Slim 5 family from Lenovo are gaming laptops at the junction of the middle and advanced price segments. The manufacturer positions them as one of the most compact 16-inch laptops for gamers (the body thickness is 25 mm and the weight is 2.4 kg), and as an additional feature it claims the presence of an LA1 AI chip. The latter, thanks to machine learning, is designed to improve performance in games, including increasing frame rates in resource-intensive titles.

All members of the line are equipped with 16-inch displays, but their performance characteristics may vary. The minimum “Hz” is 144 Hz, and the resolution is 1920 by 1200 pixels, and the maximum values are 240 Hz and 2560x1600 pixels, respectively. Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16APH8 laptops are based on the AMD Phoenix (Zen 4) platform with Ryzen 5 or 7 processors. The engines are complemented by either 16 or 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards: all of them support hardware ray tracing and provide high frame rates.

Other notable components include SSD M.2 512/1024 GB solid-state drives, a pair of audio speakers based on the Realtek ALC3287 chip, and a 5182 mAh battery. The latter can provide almost 10 hours of battery life, supports USB C (Power Delivery) and fast charging (up to 50% from zero in half an hour). Additional advantages of laptops include backlit keyboards, the presence of a Wi-Fi 6E wireless communication module, which is capable of operating in the relatively unloaded 6 GHz band, a gigabit LAN port, and popular connection interfaces.
