I can't even imagine what tires those dissatisfied people were driving on. I have an Opel OPC, not a million horsepower but quite enough for VERY active driving, yet not enough to make the PS squeal. I'll say this, highway 220-230 easy! Long turns at 200 without problems! A regular city round at 120-130 with a slight slide but holds on and this is with front-wheel drive! I was always afraid of potholes and bumps, it's no secret that Michelin is a fan of bulges, but this apparently does not apply to Pilot Sport. I've always liked Michelin tires, but after Pilot Sport I've completely fallen in love with this brand. Over two years of driving and 40,000 km, I changed 2 sets of tires, they justified every ruble. Doesn't like the cold at all, as soon as it's +10 it hardens immediately, increasing wear. Speaking of wear, it's important to understand that the tire is soft, with active driving it wears out actively as well. I don't consider increased tire wear a drawback, let's say it's a feature of Michelin. P.S. No Michelin will save you from an accident if you lack driving skills and brains first and foremost, be careful on the road. Driving like on rails I didn't notice use Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/45 R17 94Y more than year |
Good tyres for fast trail riding Good tyres. At speed, you ride like on rails, instant response to the steering wheel, reinforced sidewall. I go 3 seasons. I got into the pits, I had to roll one disc. Tyres are intact. Probably noisy. But it is not exactly))) use Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/45 R17 94Y month or more i recommend it should buy |
It was on a VW Jetta 1.9TDI and performed well. Quite a soft tire that doesn't make noise. It performed well in both dry weather and rain. For everyday driving around the city, it's just what you need. But you have to understand that since it is quite soft, its wear is relatively quick; the same Continental is much more durable, although there the rubber quickly turns into plastic and makes noise like a plane taking off. When I replaced the Jetta's Continental Sportcontact with Pilot Sport 4, I was pleasantly surprised by how much the driving experience changed. Now I consider it as a summer option for my car, which is far from the fastest on the road, because I need economical, quiet tires for city driving, but that can hold the car when the bee stings and I need to step on the gas a bit, and I think that Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and this tire should fit perfectly for that. Because I have already driven on it and have a certain trust in both this tire and the brand in general. Soft quiet rubber Good grip on the road Performs well in both rain and heat The wear is quite fast, but this is due to the rather soft rubber. |

The first specialization of the French brand Michelin was the production of bicycle tyres. More than a century after the founding date, the name of the tyre giant is heard in all corners of the globe — the company produces car tyres under its own name and owns many subsidiaries.
Sports character
The fourth "pilot" is a tyre with a sporty character, which is displayed directly in the model name through the Sport prefix. The tyre is ready to boast first-class grip, sensitive steering response and long service life. During its development, the best aspects of previous generations of the line and the accumulated experience of Michelin participation in car racing were taken into account.
Tyre tests
The high status of the tyre is confirmed by the first places in various tests. So, according to the authoritative German publications TUV SÜD and Auto Motor und Sport , the “pilot” is ahead of the closest eminent rivals in the discipline of braking both on dry and wet roads. Although the gap from other test participants is insignificant (ranging from half a metre to two metres when stopping at a speed of 100 and 80 km/h, respectively), in real traffic it will help prevent possible emergencies. In addition, the tyre showed excellent handling and high resistance to hydroplaning.
Stability on the road
An additional link in improving the grip properties of the tyre with the roadway is a layer of aramid-nylon threads in the tyre carcass to maintain the stability of the contact spot at high speeds. In the naming of the technologies of the French company, this branded construct was named Dynamic Response. At the same time, the sidewall of the model turned out to be soft and elastic, which affects the comfort of travel — its level, as for a sports-oriented tyre, is very high.
