Outdated Product
A productive pre-top gaming video card of 2023, capable of providing a consistently high frame rate in any popular game projects of 2018-2023 in resolutions up to 4K. Although, according to the manufacturer and most gamers, the optimal resolution for it is 2K, since it is in this mode that the user will be able to use high or maximum graphics settings without resorting to DLSS algorithms. The RTX 4070 sits in the middle of NVIDIA's extremely powerful Ada Lovelace GPU line-up, vastly outperforming the RTX 4050 and RTX 4060, but notably underpowered by the RTX 4080 and especially the RTX 4090 with its 24GB of VRAM. It is a representative of the popular MSI Gaming series, which produces well-balanced video cards with an emphasis on overclocking and cooling, rather than secondary functions. Ho...wever, the casing is adorned with neat RGB lighting with MSI Mystic Light Sync support. MSI GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING TRIO 12G supports high-speed PCIe Gen4 x16 system interface, equipped with a powerful and relatively quiet TRI Frozr cooling system with rectangular copper heatpipes Core Pipes and long-lasting Torx Fan 4.0 fans with dual impellers. The fans support semi-passive operation and stop completely if the chip temperature does not exceed 50 °C. The video accelerator is based on a modified AD 104 graphics processor (Ada Lovelace architecture, 5 nm) with 5888 stream processors, support for a 192-bit data exchange bus and a video core overclocked to 2490 MHz. Due to the optimization of the microarchitecture, the RTX 4070 is ahead of the RTX 3070 in performance, closely approaching the older RTX 3080 model. At the same time, the RTX 3080 is equipped with the previous generation RT cores and does not support DLSS 3.0 technology, which is one of the main features of NVIDIA Ada Lovelace cards. Another plus of MSI GeForce RTX 4070 GAMING TRIO 12G is reduced power consumption. According to official specifications, it consumes 200 watts and a 650 watt power supply is enough for it. At the same time, the length of the printed circuit board is almost 33 cm, and the card itself occupies 2.5 motherboard slots, so the best option for it would be a classic Midi Tower case with a full-format ATX board.

Excellent, quiet, and cool, but the GeForce RTX 4070 AORUS MASTER is even cooler.
11 November 2023
Top-end hardware, one of the best cooling systems, very quiet. I chose this because it has the coolest memory temperatures, plus it's one of the best in terms of circuit design, the cooler is very robust. There are even bulkier ones like the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 AORUS MASTER, but this one is more than sufficient. In a well-ventilated case with a closed side panel, it comfortably maintains 63 degrees at 215 watts and 1500 RPM. At 240 watts and +1000 MHz on the memory, it still stays cool, 67 degrees and 1900 RPM, with the memory temperature in OCCT at 54-55 degrees.
Top-notch specs, excellent and quiet cooling
Useless graphics card stand, it's just decorative. Well, and it's probably 12vhpwr, I wouldn't say it's a downside, but for someone, it might be a serious drawback, for example, those with very narrow cases... well, VERY narrow. Should you be afraid it will melt? Definitely not, since the graphics card has only 215 watts TDP, and also about 50 watts is drawn from the PCIE slot, so there's no need to worry about bending this connector or that it will be like with the 4080/4090)
