Launched in 2024, the MSI GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16G GAMING X SLIM is a powerful solution for gamers and professionals working with demanding graphics applications. A distinctive feature of this model is its compactness: thanks to its Slim category, the space occupied on the motherboard is only 3 slots, which makes it a more convenient option for assembly in limited space compared to traditional RTX 4090 modifications that occupy up to 4 slots.

The basis of the device is the modified AD103 graphics processor, which NVIDIA used in the original RTX 4080 model. The difference is that the version has more stream processors (10240 versus 9728), and the GPU is overclocked to 2625 MHz, due to which a higher level of performance is achieved. The video card is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6X video memory and uses a 256-bit bus for efficient data exchange.

This allows it to deliver high performance in 2K games at maximum graphics settings, as well as support 4K games using DLSS technology to optimize performance. This is the third generation of this technology, which was taught to work with four types of visual data, the NVIDIA Reflex optimizer and the Optical Flow Accelerator engine were built into it, resulting in a noticeable increase in the efficiency of completing missing frames.

DLSS 3.0 is supported exclusively by GeForce 4000 series cards and is especially useful when playing at high resolutions and actively using ray tracing. MSI recommends using this graphics card in systems with full frame cases and ATX motherboards, as well as power supplies of at least 850W to ensure stable power during manual or automatic overclocking. Included with the graphics card are NVIDIA proprietary tools including Broadcast, Encoder, Reflex, Studio and RTX IO, which offer enhanced capabilities for 3D graphics, streaming, and game latency optimization, making this model an equally good solution for 2K gaming PCs monitors, and for a variety of workstations designed for creating and processing media content.
