The Onkyo A-9130 amplifier can be called the next step in low-cost amplifiers. Unlike its simpler brothers, this model at a relatively low cost (about $470) is able to create a strikingly attractive sound, typical of premium devices.
Strict, beautiful, comfortable
The amplifier in a classic rectangular form factor is equipped with a rigid anti-resonance metal chassis 1.6 mm thick, so it is stable on any horizontal surface. Black or silver colour fits perfectly into any interior.
The front panel is an example of minimalism. There are 5 regulators, one large — volume, the rest — the input selector, the bass / treble and balance settings are smaller and all of the same size. The narrow LCD display is shifted to the right and almost merges with the surface. In the lower right corner there is a 6.35 mm (Jack) headphone jack, to the left of it there are minimalistic buttons Bypass Direct, bass boost and the Main in external preamp connection mode.
Powerful Buff
The model works with sound in the record frequency range of 10 – 100,000 Hz. Onkyo specialists have successfully worked on the expressiveness of the sound by applying WRAT (Wide Range Amplification Technology). The amplifier easily drives speakers with a power of 30 watts into 8 ohms and 60 watts into 4 ohms. Helping him in this is the built-in Wolfson WM8718 premium DAC, which allows you to play audio through optics with a resolution of 92 kHz / 24-bit.
The amplifier interface pleases with the presence of connectors for connecting a turntable, a subwoofer, a Remote Control connector for remote control, 5 pairs of line inputs, one pair of outputs, 1 optical and one coaxial inputs. But you can only connect two speakers. There are also no inputs and outputs for recording. But the power cable is detachable and thick. Will last a long time. The manufacturer also took care of auto-switching to Standby mode.
Overall, the Onkyo A-9130 is good. Looks great and plays even better. However not loud and not cheap. But impressive.
