After Apple tried to scrap the good old 3.5mm audio jack and brought true wireless headphones to the scene, every major smartphone maker has rushed to carve out a new niche and launch headphones. Following Xiaomi, Huawei and Meizu, the Chinese giant OPPO also entered the scene, which in 2020 alone managed to mark three interesting true wireless models. The OPPO Enco W11 model has become an excellent example of how to make comfortable and balanced headphones with good sound and an acceptable price tag for most people.
Not just headphones, but an essential element of everyday life
OPPO looked towards Apple and realized that true wireless headphones are not just headphones, but an important element of everyday life. In the morning on the way to work, you can listen to your favorite podcast in them, use them as a comfortable headset during the day, and pull the barbell in them in the evening, listening to a peppy playlist from Spotify. Therefore, the importance of aesthetics and convenience grows exponentially. So, OPPO Enco W11 look more expensive than they actually cost. The white glossy case is well-assembled and looks great, and the earbuds themselves look neat and sit firmly in the ears without causing discomfort when worn. The case is protected from moisture and dust according to the IP55 standard. The touch sensors on each of the headphones are well-tuned - the buttons respond accurately to touch and do not suffer from phantom clicks when you try to pull the earpiece out of your ear. Each channel of the W11 can work independently, both connect directly to the smartphone without being separated into a main and a slave earpiece.

For speech transmission, there is also noise reduction with one microphone, as in other inexpensive models, but it works for five. Headphones are connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth v 5.0. The connection is instantaneous, the quality of communication is stable and reliable. If we combine everything said in terms of “design and ergonomics”, then on this level Enco W11 will come close to Samsung Galaxy Buds. Therefore, the only unsolved question is the sound. Considering that OPPO specialists are far from being newbies in matters of sound, we expected that the W11 would at least not lose face. And so it happened. Titanium composite diaphragms produce a clear, pleasant and balanced sound throughout the entire spectrum. I was pleasantly surprised by the articulation of the bass - it sounds clear and accentuated, without falling into mush and without obscuring other instruments. This is really a worthy competitor to the "folk" models like Meizu POP 2 and Redmi Airdots 2, which many people fell in love with for the sound quality by the standards of TW models.
