Model overview based on user reviews
The Panasonic AG-HMC84 camcorder is a versatile choice, particularly suitable for events like weddings due to its excellent automatic mode, which ensures sharpness, white balance, and stabilization. It offers good picture quality and a 10-megapixel photography capability, though the photo mode is somewhat inconvenient as it requires switching modes. Users appreciate the easy access to control buttons and the robust optical stabilizer. However, the camcorder is noted to be a bit heavy and unbalanced, with high energy consumption. The built-in microphone is considered weak, prompting many to use external options. Despite its weight, the shoulder-mounted design is favored by experienced users. The camcorder supports both SD and AVCHD formats, providing flexibility in recording. While some find the price high, others believe it offers good value for money, especially for those willing to explore its extensive settings. Overall, the Panasonic AG-HMC84 is a solid choice for those who prioritize functionality and are comfortable with its weight and energy demands.

You can bargain with the Indians at VDNKh in pavilion 1 for 83 thousand. But you need to go to different places, ask around so that they notice, and then bargain and show that you are not very interested. For this money you can buy it! Sony 1000, for its 50 thousand and one matrix, was not even close to the 74 model, and even less so with the 84. I got it the other day and tried it out. quite suitable for weddings. Works great in automatic mode - sharpness, white balance, stabilizer, which is often necessary when reporting at a wedding. All buttons are at hand. I like the ring. Good picture quality. Possibility of photographing 10 megapixels. Many video settings functions through the menu. Recording on cheap flash drives. Ability to shoot regular DV AVI, not just HD. At 32 Giga it fits DV - 2 hours, HD Full - 3 hours. It’s a bit heavy, unbalanced, all the weight is on your hand, so you have to hold it with your other hand. When I attached the comer1800 light to the far platform and inserted a large 6-volt battery, the weight was distributed a little more evenly. The matrices are small, 1/3 would be needed, because of this the sensitivity suffers. The photography function is inconvenient, there is no way to simply take a photo by pressing a button in video mode, you need to press and hold the mode button so that the camera switches to photo mode, then switch back. |
If you don't care about the price, I recommend that those who like to fool with the technology in order to get an excellent result. Lots of settings!!! All control buttons are at hand, no need to go through the menu. Not bad DV quality. Quick transition between formats. Very tenacious autofocus. Good optical stabilizer. Consumes a lot of battery energy (even the reinforced VBG-6s don’t help). It bites forward, the center of gravity is not balanced. It’s a bit heavy. I didn’t like the built-in microphone (I use an external one). |
The perfect option for that price to move away from mini DV. Don't mess with the factory settings too much—I experimented with them for 8 months, but in the end, it's -3 on the master pedestal. That's it! Users will understand me. In any case, a step forward from 74. You can intervene in settings-IRIS operationally. Focus, etc., but be very cautious-often-"slips" i.e., gives adjustments with a delay. I've written about the "delays", and the button was mentioned before me. The photo mode is completely unnecessary. I shoot in HD and then any still frame is at my disposal from the editing timeline. A photographer can't capture such frames! I'd like a 1/3 sensor, but that's a different budget. |
