A relatively affordable dual-channel set of DDR4 RAM modules that can work stably at a clock frequency of 3000 MHz. Consists of a pair of peer-to-peer modules with a volume of 8 GB each, equipped with low-profile heatsinks. It is positioned as a product of the middle price category, aimed at advanced users, demanding gamers and enthusiasts who know how to get maximum performance. Designed for installation in multi-purpose home and gaming systems. Thanks to the claimed high clock frequency of 3000 MHz, the Patriot Memory Viper Steel DDR4 2x8Gb PVS416G300C6K RAM module kit shows an impressive bandwidth of up to 24 Gbps, which is enough for gaming, household and professional tasks. When installed, modules start in default mode (DDR4-2133, CL15-15-15-35, 1.2 V). To automatically set the speed...mode (DDR4-3200, CL16-18-18-36, 1.35V), you need a motherboard that supports Extreme Memory Profile (XMP 2.0). If the board does not support XMP, then the final configuration can be done manually (setting the appropriate parameters in the UEFI BIOS requires some skill). The set of modules has a high degree of compatibility and works without problems both in systems with Intel Core CPUs (6th to 12th generation) and AMD Ryzen CPUs.

How to choose RAM?Tips for choosing the optimal RAM parameters that will ensure stable operation and PC performance
Model overview based on user reviews
The Patriot Memory Viper Steel DDR4 2x8Gb RAM offers a low price point for its advertised high frequencies, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious users. However, many users report that the XMP profiles often do not work as advertised, requiring manual adjustments in the BIOS to achieve stable performance. The memory modules are available with different chip types, such as Hynix and Samsung b-die, which can affect performance and stability. While some users successfully achieve the advertised speeds with manual tweaking, others experience stability issues and crashes, particularly when attempting to reach higher frequencies. The RAM's design is appreciated for its stylish look without flashy lights, but the heatsinks are noted to be more decorative than functional. Overall, this RAM is suitable for those who are comfortable with hardware adjustments and are willing to experiment to achieve optimal performance.

Worth taking for non-demanding systems.

Motherboard b450 pro4, processor ryzen 5 3400g. In slots 1 and 3, the xmp profile did not work, but in slots 2 and 4 everything worked (xmp 3000 cl16). I didn't try overclocking because it was assembled for multimedia and browsing needs, but with the possibility of upgrading for gaming. Pay attention to which slots you insert the memory, it's very important, not the first time I've encountered this.
Low price.

Buy XMP 3200 dies, not XMP 3000.
8 March 2021
I have a plate that wound up at 3000 at 3400 (16-19-19-36) in a single channel, but a plate with the same heatsink but xmp at 3200 wound up at 3800 (18-20-20-40), and this despite the fact that the difference in cost is 100 rubles, now let people go away who shouted to me in their reviewers that the XMP profile does not solve and you can simply overclock it to the level of a more expensive model. By the way, I'm one of those who are ready to dig, so I don't know how you will be with the frequencies.
Aesthetic radiator, I managed to get good frequencies
The fact that I saved 100 rubles and did not buy 2 dice for 3200
great model, love it

I bought a 3200Mhz kit. Excellent frequency memory holds, I had to spend a couple of minutes to set it up in the BIOS, but there is nothing complicated there, I advise you to manually set the voltage to 1.35 right away so that it works stably with Xmp.
Works at advertised frequencies

grip of steel

Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 is a series of high-frequency RAM from the American brand, which is distinguished by an excellent price-to-memory frequency ratio and a strict but interesting design.

All salt in chips

The Viper Steel DDR4 cooling radiators are made of aluminium, painted with a high-gloss gunmetal lacquer and have a low height. Due to this, they will not interfere with the installation of most tower CPU coolers. Given that the older memory model has a frequency of 4400 MHz and a high supply voltage of 1.45 volts, thick-walled metal heatsinks will come in handy. And for younger models there will be extra room for overclocking. Fan-favorite Samsung B-die RAM chips are usually hidden under heatsinks, but lately Hynix options have often come across.

Choice for every taste

Another beauty of the Viper Steel line is the variety. For example, owners of mid-range motherboards (for example, on the AMD B450 chip) do not make sense to overpay for hard overclocking sticks, so they have relatively inexpensive pairs of 8 GB sticks with a frequency of 3000 MHz and CL16 timings. At the same time, owners of overclocker motherboards based on Intel Z390 and AMD X570 can look for a variant that runs at 4400 MHz out of the box. Well, in terms of price and performance, the best option would be somewhere in the middle. If we talk about overclocking, then again, a lot will depend on which RAM chips are used in memory. Memory with chips from Samsung is less demanding in terms of customization of secondary-tertiary timings and, in general, overclocks easier and more efficiently.
