A dual-channel set of DDR4 RAM modules capable of guaranteed operation with an effective clock frequency of 3200 MHz. Consists of 2 single-sided modules with a volume of 8 GB each (total 16 GB). The manufacturer is positioned as a product of the middle price category, aimed at demanding gamers and enthusiasts who can get the maximum performance from the available hardware. Designed for installation in performant multi-purpose home and gaming systems.
Thanks to the claimed high clock frequency of 3200 MHz, it demonstrates high throughput up to 25.6 Gbps. When installed, the modules operate in default DDR4-2133 mode with CL15-15-15-35 timings at 1.2V. board with full support for XMP 2.0 technology. If there is no XMP support, then the configuration can be performed manually by setting the appropriate parameters in the UEFI BIOS. The set of RAM modules Patriot Memory Viper Steel DDR4 2x8Gb PVS416G320C6K has a high degree of compatibility and is able to work in configurations based on Intel Core CPUs (6th to 12th generation), as well as AMD Ryzen CPUs (Zen / Zen2 / Zen3). For stable operation in overclocking, there is a passive cooling radiator.

Steel giant
RAM designers have always had a hard time: they need to come up with something that looks beautiful on the box and looks better than the competition. Therefore, heavy artillery went into battle in the form of RGB lighting and unusual, but not always appropriate, radiators. The Viper Steel kit from Patriot managed to stand out in comparison to this too: massive gunmetal-painted aluminium radiators look futuristic, but never clumsy, reminiscent of either the Transformers logo or the new gadget from the Batman suit in Arkham Knight.
3200 MHz at the price of a regular office RAM
Although the kit in question is the initial solution in the Viper Steel line, the youngest model of the series already starts at a frequency of 3000 MHz. At the same time, a couple of slats of 8 GB each with a frequency of 3200 MHz, for which they actually ask for the same money as for the simplest "office" memory such as Crucial Value. At the same time, its potential turned out to be expectedly higher than that of many mass solutions, and when sorting through XMP profiles, it allows you to achieve stable operation at a frequency of 3600 MHz. With manual tuning, the results will be slightly higher, but here it’s already how lucky you are with a specific instance of memory.
Look for options with memory from Samsung
And now one important nuance. The fact is that both Samsung B-die RAM chips loved by all enthusiasts and variants with Hynix memory can be hidden under radiators. It is the first option that you need to look for on the market, since the memory from Hynix can behave capriciously, refusing to work with the selected XMP profile. You can, of course, go into the BIOS the old fashioned way and manually play with the voltage and timings, but why these difficulties if you can do without them?
