Stylish and musical

The representative of the Philips flagship line is notable for its stylish design. Like most televisions from the Dutch company, it received Ambilight (3-sided) backlighting. It also has a thin body and a barely noticeable frame around the 55-inch screen.

An original design element in the Philips 55OLED903 is the built-in soundbar. It is located at the bottom of the case and occupies the entire width of the screen.

The speaker system itself, created by a specialized company Bowers & Wilkins, is represented by a total of 6 speakers (a pair of mid-, high- and low-frequency speakers). Their total power is 50 W, and the sound is characterized by excellent accuracy, clarity and volume bass, which even music lovers will probably appreciate.

Flawless Image

The main feature of the Philips 55OLED903 is the OLED panel. Individual pixels of the 55-inch screen can be switched off, which guarantees the viewer full black colour and infinite contrast. Even in a room without light, all image details in dark scenes are clearly visible.

Due to the high peak brightness (in tests around 800 cd / m2), HDR content (HDR10 + and HLG formats) looks spectacular, and comfortable viewing is also ensured in a well-lit room. The strengths of the OLED screen also include large viewing angles, accurate colour reproduction (thanks to high-quality factory calibration), and a wide available colour range.

The refresh rate of the matrix is 120 Hz, contributing to the excellent smoothness of the video sequence. Additionally, the Picture Performance Index 4500 technology is designed to smooth the picture when playing dynamic scenes.

"Smart" hardware and not only

The TV runs on Android TV 7, the interface of which is not as modern and convenient as that of the 8th version. In addition, there are no complaints about the work of the “smart” platform. For control, the user is offered two multimedia consoles at once. The first is large with a QWERTY layout, and the second (Easy) is narrow and minimalist, with a voice assistant.

A set of wired and wireless interfaces, supported codecs and content formats fully correspond to the flagship status, except that Bluetooth does not allow you to connect audio devices (only manipulators). The disadvantage of Philips 55OLED903 is the high price, but the picture, sound, design and other advantages justify it.
