Video reviews

The Dutch brand, which needs no introduction or advertising, has been delighting its fans with quality and affordable products in many industries for 126 years. The SHP1900 is one of the clearest examples of Phillips' consumer success.

Design, quality and ergonomics

The appearance of the model can not be called classic. Immediately striking are the large convex bowls and the forked headband. The case is made of black matte plastic, pleasant to the touch. The ear cushions are large, they cover the ear completely and do not press, but the leatherette on them is very thin, and over time it will inevitably begin to peel off. The headband is adjustable, but the fixation is unreliable, and, when removing the headphones from the head, it can jump off, but the 2-metre wire is very durable and can withstand heavy loads, as practice shows. Unfortunately, both the cable and the headphones themselves lack a volume control.

sound

The sound of the SHP1900 will quite satisfy the average layman, but not the musical gourmet. Although, given the ultra-budgetary model, demanding from it a rich sound picture is initially an empty undertaking. The middle prevails, basses and highs are weakly expressed. The claimed lower frequency threshold of 20 Hz is clearly not true and fluctuates around 50 – 60 Hz. Although this opinion is ours and purely subjective, so there is no reason not to trust the manufacturer. The model also doesn’t differ much in high volume, the sensitivity of 98 dB at peak loads is clearly not enough, but good noise isolation allows you not to twist the volume to the maximum.

Summarizing the above, we will classify the SHP1900 as a headphone made with an emphasis on comfort and reliability. A profitable solution for gamers and office workers who do not have high demands on sound.

Additional features headphones Philips SHP1900:
