Good entry-level welding inverter

The Ronix RH-4692 portable inverter, packaged in a compact case with a carrying handle, is designed for manual arc welding (MMA) using stick electrodes. The main scope of application of this device is welding metal structures of medium thickness (there may not be enough power for high-quality welding of thick metal). Depending on the electrodes used, carbon steel or stainless steel can be welded. The manufacturer claims that the device can work with electrodes with a diameter of up to 4 mm.

Under the hood of the Ronix RH-4692 it is clear that the manufacturer pays attention to product quality. The design uses good materials and components: copper bars and lugs, clearly marked electronic elements and high-quality soldering. The electronic circuit is protected from overheating and voltage fluctuations in the electrical network (the device operates even at 170 V). The downside is the cooling system. Despite the fan, small radiators do not provide effective heat dissipation. At high currents (when using electrodes ⌀ 4 mm), the overheating warning lamp often lights up. Therefore, it is better to use the Ronix RH-4692 to work with 1.6 - 3 mm electrodes to avoid long pauses for cooling.

Device for beginners and home craftsmen

The control panel consists of one digital display showing ammeter readings and a rotary control that adjusts the welding current in the range from 10 A to 160 A. Functions that facilitate welding (hot start, arc force, anti-stick protection), “hardwired” into the electronic board, they cannot be disabled or configured.
