Premium Design
The flagship of 2020 from Samsung is the first thing that catches the eye thanks to its appearance. The TV is really frameless, because the screen here accounts for 99% of the entire front surface area. The model also acquired a thin body: without a stand, the thickness is only 1.5 cm.
Even when the Samsung QE-75Q950TS is not used for its intended purpose, it can be a noticeable element of the interior, because the Ambient Mode allows you to display various content on the display: family photos, beautiful screensavers or useful information (time, weather, etc.).
8K resolution
The matrix of a 75-inch TV is capable of displaying video with Ultra HD 8K resolution, that is, 7680x4320 pixels. Since there is not much such content yet, the scaling function (Upscaling up to 8K) has been implemented. Plus, support for the AV1 codec is announced, which makes it possible to run 8K content from YouTube. Also, the model has 6-generation Wi-Fi installed, which means that the most “heavy” streaming video can be broadcast “over the air”.
The highest detail is not the only feature of the Samsung QE-75Q950TS. The QLED-matrix provides excellent brightness and richness of the picture, and when showing both regular video and HDR (of the main formats, only HDR10+ is supported). The image quality is almost independent of viewing angles, it is characterized by good contrast, including due to the correct operation of local dimming and the Adaptive Picture function, which corrects the image based on the level of illumination in the room.
For games and any entertainment
The gaming potential of the model is laid down by a high refresh rate of the matrix (120 Hz) and FreeSync technology for synchronization with AMD video cards and ensuring flawlessly smooth video sequence. In addition, in the game mode, minimal delays in displaying the image on the screen are provided, and one of the HDMI ports has an increased bandwidth (version 2.1).
The Samsung QE-75Q950TS audio system implements Q-Symphony technology with an abundance of speakers located in different parts of the case and two subwoofers. All of them create the effect of volume. The total acoustic power reaches 70 W, therefore, most users will not need a soundbar.
Various multimedia functions are offered by the proprietary Tizen OS shell. Of the additional chips, the presence of the Multi View mode stands out, where content broadcast from TV is shown on one part of the screen, and from a smartphone or other device (including those made by Apple, because AirPlay 2 is supported) on the other. And the multimedia remote is ready to complement various voice assistants: Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and proprietary Bixby.
The disadvantages of the TV include a high price and a solid consumption of electricity (class C and consumption up to 389 W per hour). But among the “classmates” there are also more wasteful and expensive solutions, which is why the Samsung QE-75Q950TS is quite popular among innovative 8K models.
