fresh faces
Solidigm P41 Plus is a young brand of solid state drives created jointly by Intel and Hynix. Combines slim M.2 format with ultra-fast PCI-E 4.0 bus. Therefore, it is compatible with desktop PCs and laptops (backward compatible with PCI-E 3.0 and even 2.0), as well as the PlayStation 5.
Console gaming
For the Sony game console, you definitely need a PCI-E 4.0 SSD, and without a high heatsink and at the same time not hot. Fortunately, Solidigm P41 Plus fits both of these criteria. All thanks to the latest Silicon Motion SM2269XT controller, the first SSD based on which was the P41 Plus. The speed indicators are as follows: 3500 MB / s read and 1625 MB / s write.
Moderate heating
Of course, this is far from a record by the standards of PCI-E 4.0 SSD, but the best ratio of speed and temperature on the market, which is perhaps even more important. After all, in case of overheating, the disk will simply reduce the speed, which eliminates all its potential. Instead of its own buffer RAM, a part of the system-wide RAM is used using HBM technology.
